Yoga for Runners

I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I went for a run this weekend.

For better or for worse, when you go to a yoga class, you get what the teacher wants to teach. And more often than not, what the teacher wants to teach is the class they want to feel in their body. And the class I want to feel in my body today targets the calves, hips, and glutes.

Start with a straddle and some dragons.

Then a low to the ground sequence starting with melting heart followed by one of my favorite combos: a half-frog, low thread the needle, and a twist. And finishing up with sphinx.

Wrap up with sleeping swan.

Now that’s what I call yoga.
