One of the unique experiences of this kind of practice is that of putting yourself in an uncomfortable situation and seeing how you react. And then of trying to find calm, and peace, and acceptance in the discomfort. And in doing so building discomfort tolerance, and learning that it is okay to feel uncomfortable. Because you are strong and capable of doing hard things, and of persevering.
In my classes I try to incorporate this feeling by always including something “aggravating,” and to balance it with something calming. And to notice the presence of one within the other.
